Two creative friends - Tom and Jane, who met while in college, had a plan to color their Mac computers with mustards and ketchup. They're tired of already dull seasoning on just dull dishes: brown and red. So for their "desperate attempt" to spice things up, they downloaded a free download off of Kuter's website, which allows you to upload your own artwork and use it as a "stage mask" for your Mac computers. (I know, it's a bit of a pun... but you get the point.)
Tom and Jane spent about an hour coloring and downloading ketchup and mustard onto their Macs before heading to their friends' house. When they were done, they had a pretty decent looking digital art portfolio of their work. And now that the kids are old enough, they can do this for their next art project. It's a great way to get them interested in using digital art in general. And if Tom and Jane ever decide to try and make money doing this, they would be able to use their "art" for free to help pay for the classes their kids needed to learn computer graphics.
The only problem is that I didn't copy any of their work, so I guess it counts as copyright infringement if I downloaded any of their artwork. But since neither of them are paying any of my bills, I figure it's a small price to pay to keep them busy for a few hours. Now if only my dad could get his hands on some good home computer memory. Memuplay may be the next best thing...
